Hello to you all,
Wow! What an amazing few days.
I know God is doing something
powerful here and all we can do here is just look at each other
and
say "That was neat"
Yesterday morning I woke early to meet with my mother to
pray with
Fr. Pat Crawley. Just as we left my mothers room, we come
across a priest, Fr. Hampsch. (oop! too late to call anyone to
check the spelling on his last name) He also has a healing
ministry. I have memories of Fr. Hampsch spending
Christmas Eve's with us for several years while my mom
duplicated tapes for his ministry. Anyhow, I was thrilled
to have him pray over me and for our baby.
Shortly thereafter we met with Fr. Crawley, my mom, and sisters,
Debbie and Marque. We prayed in a quiet area and than Fr.
Crawley
said he had some time and he could go to the hospital and pray
over
Natalia there. I was so excited! Stephen met us at the
hospital and we had the most beautiful prayer experience.
It was so calm and peaceful. Natalia was an absolute
angel, the nurses later told me how moved they were. The nurses
are so loving and caring. Natalia is a cuddler and she is
held often. One nurse even called off duty to check on her,
another came to take her on a walk before she started her shift.
Natalia is touching many lives. One nurse said my faith
was contagious. Thank God, he is truly helping me through.
I was told yesterday that Natalia is drinking well and may be
able
to come home as soon as Tuesday. (I have so many of you praying,
your emails give me strength.) Prayers are being answered!! She
definately has Trisomy 13, she has some hearing, more tests are
needed. Her CT scan was normal and at this point there are no
life
threatening problems.
Yesterday, a few times and this morning several times she
started to
move her eyes quickly from side to side, then her head would
shake
too from side to side. My faith says, God is healing her mind
and
eyes. Yet, the mommy in me called the doctor. We now have a
neurologist scheduled to check on her. So many things to
take care
of with this little one.
I am reminded occasionally that this is a short term life, and I
realize that is what all the books say but I need to believe God
wants and will make a miracle with this precious life.
Even if the miracle is to those of us who are praying for her.
Our lives have already changed and I am sure there is more to
come. Let his will be done.
Tonight at mass we happened to be sitting in front of a special
child. She talked louder, sang off key and I couldn't help
thinking that God wanted me to hear her. She knew the
service and she was participating. Mid way through I couldn't
keep the tears from falling. Of course the kids kept
saying, mommy stop crying, and then I looked at Stephen.
We both were thinking the same thing. We may have a child like
this in several years. I whispered,"This is
hard" he agreed. After the service, as we left I
practically walked into the mother of this special child..
I couldn't help but ask her if her child was a
special child. I told her I just had a Trisomy 13 baby
last week. She excitedly said, "Mines Trisomy
18." We hugged and I cried. She knew what I was going
through and I knew what she had been through. This was too
weird. I brought her to Stephen and introduced them. We
met her husband and her 17 year old daughter,( sweet as could
be) and had a nice visit. We always sit in
the same place, however, they usually sit on the other side of
church. God is helping us along this new path of life.
Please also keep Shayla in your prayers, she almost drowned this
weekend in Washington. Also an 18 year old girl I met at
the hospital. Her mother was in an accident and will be in
the hospital
for over a year in rehabilitation. Both mom and daughters
names are
Lisa.
Tomorrow Natalia is getting Baptized at 11am We are all
excited and are looking forward to a special memory with our
little one.
Thank you again for your prayers and support. You all mean
so much to me and I also thank God for you and ask God to bless
and protect you.
I will say a special prayer for
all of you at the Baptism.
LOVE,THERESEANN
