Subject: Natalia's surgery
Hello,
Natalia's right eye cataract removal went well. The
abnormalities
did not affect the retina. She doesn't appear to have
glaucoma. I am so thankful. Her new left eye contact
lens will arrive soon. I'll let you know how she is doing as she
begins to see more clearly.
I don't know if I ever told you the little story about a nurse
who seems to always be around Natalia when she is having
surgical procedures.
I first met this nurse while I was sitting and holding Natalia
before her malrotation surgery. He sat across the room and
just let me hold Natalia until they took her to the operating
room. We talked a bit and shared the usual kid and spouse
information. I was holding Natalia pretty close as this
was going to be her first big surgery and I wasn't really secure
that she was going to be fine. Anyhow, when it was time to go I
handed Natalia to the nurse and although I started to cry he
assured me they would take good care of her. We had several more
procedures and out of the blue, there David would be. He floats
from the surgery area to the Pediatric floor. He was never our
shift nurse, but he would pop in from time to time with words of
encouragement. After her first eye surgery he walked by
again. Just by chance. I was beginning to call him
Natalia's angel. Towards the end of our stay at the hospital I
told him to make sure his wife knew she must be married to a
guardian angel. We all laughed, but I was serious.
He was so supportive and caring towards our little gal.
I have thought of him from time to time wondering if it was just
chance that God might have sent a special person to watch over
Natalia while she was in the hospital.
Well today, as I went to the post operating room to meet up with
Natalia, there was our special angel walking in Natalia.
It was perfect. I couldn't believe he just happened to be
working in the outpatient area too. I believe he said he
was walking by again and saw Natalia. He wanted to reach out
again and bring her back to me.
Isn't that a great story. I think our God has a great sense of
timing. :)
I am sure God is truly watching over her and bringing
those special care givers, Doctors and Nurses the loving and
healing hand she needs for her to get better. Some of you call
and ask to come and help me by holding her. That's fine.
She loves to be held, I'm sure it gives her comfort with her
minimal eyesight and hearing. GOD BLESS YOU ALL, THANK YOU FOR
YOUR PRAYERS. YOU ARE IN OURS TOO!
Love, ThereseAnn
***oops! Didn't get this sent yesterday.****
Just wanted to let you know, she is not refluxing as much,
keeping
her food down and taking in more formula. Thank you so
much for
your prayers. I feel she is doing a bit better and with
the
replacement g-tube that we put in today, I am hoping that her
tummy
pains will go away. She seems to be in less pain this evening.
Hooray!!!! |
